Las Vegas’ storied history as the gambling mecca of the world has resulted in it being the site of many of the most monstrous jackpots ever won. The Megabucks progressive slot machines are responsible for many of those wins, including all three of the biggest jackpots ever awarded in Vegas.
$39.7 Million – An anonymous 25-year-old software engineer won this insane jackpot at the Excalibur in 2003, playing a Megabucks machine. It still stands as the largest jackpot ever won in Sin City.
$34.9 Million – A 37-year-old cocktail waitress walked away with a nearly $35 million jackpot in 2000, striking it big on a Megabucks machine. The Desert Inn, where the massive win took place, was destroyed a few years later to be replaced by Wynn Las Vegas.
$27.6 Million – Another Megabucks payout, this $27 million prize was won in 1998 at Palace Station, setting up a 67-year-old former flight attendant for a very joyous retirement.
